So I wanted to learn how to do a proper deadlift. I had never worked with a personal trainer before, but I had been doing (what I thought were proper) deadlifts for several years. I was of the impression that I could learn everything I needed to know from books and fitness magazines, yet I kept hurting my lower back. I was afraid I was going to have to hang up the Deads as they were always the culprit. And then Mark came into my world at Anytime Fitness in Plymouth, MA. I discovered that I had a lot to learn – but even far more to gain!! Mark pushes you beyond limits that you don’t know you are capable of, but he knows you are capable of. I am absolutely amazed at the progress and gains I have made. With Mark’s keen eye and some adjustments in my form I have far surpassed limits I could not have ever imagined. While he can push you to and through your extremes (ask me about his workout called “A Special Kind of Hell”), he is also exceptional at adjusting your workouts as needed to work within your limitations. For example, I tweaked my lower back a few months ago. I explained my situation to Mark, and he changed up my back routine for the day. By the time I got home, my back was feeling incredibly better! I was completely healed in less than a week as opposed to being out of commission for three to four weeks. No missed gym, no missed work. UNBELIEVEABLE!! He is highly knowledgeable of the human body and its mechanics, and extraordinarily intuitive with both your capabilities and your limitations. These strengths, in combination with his gifted vision as an artist and sculptor create a product that is both mechanically sound and pain free. I am absolutely thrilled with what I see and how I feel! You simply can’t get the kind of experience from books and magazines that you can from working with a person like Mark. His dedication and commitment is inspirational, and I am very fortunate to have met Mark and to be working with him. And I REALLY heart Deadlifts now that I can do them properly and pain and injury free! Thank you, Mark!

I have known Mark for several years thru the MMA fighting as my son Greg is a pro MMA fighter. After 10 knee operations 2 total knee replacements with a steel rod in my left leg I have a very rare decease that my body makes excessive scar tissue. I have negative 11 degree bend and cannot bend my left leg. This has put a hardship on my life style. I gained too much weight and scaled about 315 lbs. I spoke with THE BEAST about what we could do. I joined Anytime Fitness and under the guidance of Mark he put me on a rigid training program to help but NOT hurt my progress. He encouraged me thru out the program, after 6 months I have lost 36 lbs have gained more motion in my left knee and my right knee is much stronger than before. I have been walking straighter though still with a limp. I always used an electric mobility cart to get around and a cane.. With Marks guidance and his training expertise I can walk without the cart and I use my cane on a limited basis. I have been feeling better all around and I feel better about myself. My goal is to lose 30 more lbs and gain muscle mass. My weight is down to 280 lbs and my goal is to be 250 by next summer. Mark will make me thru his BEAST MODE accomplish my goal

Im not one for bragging, but after being introduced to the gym by my dad it quickly became an obsession. It is thanks to this man right here though that I was able to grow it into a healthy addiction. As a young kid the gym can be a very intimidating place. But after being taught by the Beast himself I quickly gained confidence in myself. I knew I was being mentored by the best as he pushed me to my limits every time we trained. As my confidence grew and I become more independent in the gym, but Mark didn't just disappear, as I was not just a "client". He truly cares about the people he trains and was always was, and still is, there for me and anyone. 5 Years later he has become more than a trainer. Mark has become a a friend and someone I can model after of how I want to be. So, thanks to him I would say I have made quite the transformation, and with much of what he taught still at the core of my workouts I know I will continue to grow and make beastly gains.

I met Mark at powerhouse gym a few years back and not to long after I joined his Beast Bootcamps. The team mentality and competitiveness each of us encountered was really great. Fast forward a year or so I had fallen off keeping up with my exercising and nutrition. I now train with Mark three days a week at anytime fitness in Plymouth and although at first it's a grind and can push you to your limits, it is very rewarding. After 7 weeks I've totally turned it around. My energy and drive have returned just from the results I've seen in what really isn't a lot of time. I can't say enough about how happy I am to be back in the gym and have Mark helping me hit my fitness goals.

Oohrah!! I am a "beasty girl"!! Or, a senior beast. Ive been working with Mark for 25 training sessions. They are coming to an end on Tuesday...it feels like a trial separation! My motto is "Invest in Yourself"! With Marks encouragement and support, I have attained new personal milestones for myself. Mark watches my form and gauges my strength and ability. He inspires me! He pushes me to try exercises and weights that I would never do on my own. I love the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from doing something hard!! I conquered! With Marks help and a diet tune up, I have gone from 139lbs. to a better, stronger 125!! My spring clothes are down from size 6 to size 2, and I am proud! I looked forward to my training sessions so much, that my children bought me more for my birthday and Mothers Day. Health is such a gift!! At 65, I feel great...that would be energetic, strong and powerful! I am going to miss my training sessions over the summer but hope to rekindle our relationship in the Fall. I will miss Marks counting to 4...he is always on 4 reps, you have to check him! And ,remember to "pay yourself first".

In late March I had surgery to repair rotator cuff, frozen shoulder and bone spurs. My surgeon told me as far as damage goes, I had hit the trifecta. For six weeks after the operation I had to keep my arm in a harness designed to keep it secured to my chest. Atrophy set in. Three months of physical therapy for strength and flexibility followed. Fear of reinjuring is always on ones mind. I knew I needed to take the next step in strengthening. Towards that end I began my sessions with Mark. Measurement of strength and workout plans stressing technique followed. Not having proper technique is how the injury came about Fear of reinjuring was immediately displaced with confidence. In just over five weeks the results I am seeing are beyond what I ever expected. I now have the knowledge to continue to build strength on a steady basis using three to four workout plans So if anyone out there reading this has had a similar injury as I, take the advice of this 63 year old. I own my own personal training facility, Miracles In Fitness, and it seems that I am always too busy to work out myself. A few months ago, I heard from some friends about an awesome personal trainer named Mark Featherstone. So for once I thought I would do something for me and hired "The Beast," as Mark is affectionately known, to train me at my own gym. We started out with hour-long sessions once a week. Very quickly I became addicted to Mark and his workouts. So I increased to twice a week, and the results have been impressive - being a trainer myself, I know about results. I have been training with Mark since November, and I feel awesome! I am now in a size 4 with muscles! I feel so strong, healthy and energized every day. I am doing things that I never thought I could because I was always in so much pain. He targets every part of my body. I love the excitement, his knowledge and his passion for what he does and how he trains every time he walks through my door. I wake up on training days and say, "Its Beast Day today!"
