FINALLY ADJUSTING

FINALLY ADJUSTING

So over the last year or so I have finally hit a pique with my strength and conditioning...
Just over a year ago January 2014 it was made clear to my by MRI and surgeons that I can no longer spar or get hit and that I will be slowly losing control of my hands and my arms and losing strength along the way.
I drastically searched for a surgeon to help me but when I finally met one I trusted we agreed waiting for now would be the best.
Just this past January 2015 I lost control of my left leg for 2 months. Again this has been expected over the years but even when you expect things they hit unexpectedly...
You see I have 11 herniated discs in my spine. 6 in my neck and 5 in my lumbar spine or lower back. These are a result of Degenerative Disc Disease and will continue to get worse with time...
My blog however is not about the pain or the loss of strength it is about not stopping even though that would be the easiest thing in the world to do. I could literally go on Disability and take pain killers and become a dug addicted vegetable living on my couch.
Instead I decided to do what I can even though it never would again match my personal bests from my past. This was tougher and tougher every time I did it and there were weeks that I just didnt lift at all...
I took a week off last week for vacation and today I forced myself back into the gym to do what I call CHESTICLES and I could not be happier...
We cannot we MUST NOT give up on life because we start to get older and or more frail...
If I had stopped lifting all together I would not be able to move at all by now. I keep myself fresh and alive by using the frustration and the anger to force myself into the gym and to keep working out...
Id love it if I could inspire all of you to do that too...
